Bob is a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Woodbury in 1980 and he has been active in all four Club Avenues of Service. Following his Club Presidency in 1983, he assumed many District assignments, including Youth Exchange, Extension, Group Study Exchange, World Community Service, Club Service and Rotary Foundation. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Foundation Benefactor.

After serving as District Governor in 1990-91, he continued providing his extensive Rotary experience at both District 5960 and club levels, serving on many District committees as well as serving as Woodbury Rotary Club Secretary for many years.

His classification is Transportation. He served for thirty-five years as Sales Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President and President of a United Van Lines Agency in St. Paul, retiring in January of 1999. He was Board Chairman of Minnesota Transport Services Association for four years and also served on the Board of Arbitration for American Movers Conference for 12 years. He was Consultant to United Van Lines for specialty services.

One of the highlights of his Rotary career was his significant participation in the collection of medical supplies, storage and distribution for a new medical clinic established in Guatemala in 1991.

Bob distinguished himself as Team Leader for an "all-Rotarian" Group Study Exchange to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia in May of 1999 and served as District coordinator for the inbound GSE team from Japan in 2000-01. He is currently Rotary District 5960 Speakers' Bureau Chair and continues to provide expertise as Past District Governor whenever the occasion arises.
