Cathy Smith has been with Central Roofing Company since 1974 when she was hired as a receptionist at 19 years old. Since then Cathy has worked in payroll, accounts payable, job costing, purchasing, and financial accounting. She now handles the legal and financial management of Central Roofing as well as all insurance matters.

Cathy's activity in project management includes contract review, insurance, and general familiarity with project. She is involved with weekly inner-office scheduling/job and cost/quality control meetings to keep all team members informed of each job's progress.

Cathy has been an active volunteer in many organizations. She is 1998-99 President of the Fridley Rotary Club, and served as an Assistant Governor of Rotary International District 5960 in 1999-01. She is a past board member of the Southern Anoka Chamber of Commerce, and was the first to be honored with SACC's Volunteer of the Year Award in 1998. She was community Chairperson when Fridley hosted the Honduran contingent during the 1994 International Special Olympics. She is a past board member of the Anoka County Red Cross, where she was active with their programs to promote blood drives in Anoka Area high schools. She has been with the speakers bureau for the Business Education Economic Foundation since 1994, speaking to students about diversity, construction as a career, and overcoming life obstacles. She is an Advisory Board Member for Books for Africa.

Cathy grew up in Roseville, and graduated from Grace High School in Fridley in 1973. She went from there directly into the workplace. She has 4 brothers and 1 sister, as well as 11 nieces and nephews who attempt to consume a good portion of her time. In addition, she has three children she shares with other families through the Rotary Youth Exchange program (from Northern Ireland, Norway, and Poland). Her hobbies include travel, golf, and biking.
