Greater Rochester Rotary (fondly known as GRR) has historically been very active.
GRR true hands-on attitude and spirit has tackled: - Repair and Maintenance at Northland House (later called Ronald McDonald House) - Paint-a-thons (later changed to Brush-Offs) for needy persons in the community - Shingling and other construction and maintenance projects at Camp Olson - Renovation of the sailboat 'lightning' for Camp Olson - named upon completion the 'J. Burke' - The STRIVE Mentorship Program - Wood projects for seniors - Worked on houses for Habitat for Humanity - Kitchen Police meals for seniors at Senior Citizens Center - Fruit Sale Fundraiser - Rochester Holiday Classic Basketball Tournament

Vince Folkert Vocational Service Award STRIVE program - grown to 3 high schools, 78 students in 2004-2005 Rochester Community and Technical College scholarship - annual Student of the Month for a high school student in the arts

We have hosted approximately 25 inbound exchange students and sponsored about 25 outbound students. Going both ways we have touched countries like Mexico, New Zealand, England, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Japan, South Africa and Czechos |
