On Friday, August 12^th, Community Bank Plymouth is hosting a charity golf event at Highland National Golf Club. While there are plenty of charity golf events to choose from over the summer, I thought this one might be of interest to you.

The cost is $125 per golfer and includes golf with a cart, a box lunch (Bear Rock Café) and dinner (Rudolph’s Bar-B-Que). All proceeds from the golf event and a silent auction, immediately following, will go to Haiti Outreach to support their project of opening the only bank in Pignon, Haiti (on the Central Plateau).

While the combination of banking and Haiti is a perfect match for my heart, it is also easy to explain the critical need for any community to have a bank and the related access to financial resources. The banking organization (Fonkoze) has pledged to lend over $100,000 per year in the greater Pignon community. Most loans are expected to be in the $100 range.
