Membership Development Branch

The new District Leadership Plan now utilizes six branches of operations in order to best match with the Rotary International recommended Club Leadership Plan model. The Membership Development Branch coincides with the Club Membership Committee. The Membership Development Branch consists of the Membership Development Committee and the Extension Committee.

Membership Development Committee
Membership Growth is important! Imagine that your club were to lose ten percent of its members. How would that affect your service program? What projects might not be completed? Which ones might never have been started? Now consider what your club could accomplish with ten percent, five percent or even two percent more members. Think about the expertise you could add to your club's overall profile simply by filling all open classifications. Every new Rotarian brings a range of personal and professional resources and knowledge that can greatly strengthen your club's ability to serve throughout the community and the world.

The responsibilities of the Membership Committee are to provide information to the clubs on membership strategies, counsel club officers/chairs to ensure classification surveys are prepared, and work closely with clubs with membership loss or lack of growth.

Extension Committee
Club Extension is the heart of Rotary growth. The starting of a new Rotary club makes a major contribution to the furthering of Rotary goals and programs. Because Rotary is interested in not just starting new clubs, but also in maintaining its strong image of leadership and commitment to service and established procedures, extension is the area in which careful preparation and study are essential. Supervision and cooperation of Rotary International, the District Governor, the Extension committee, the sponsoring Rotary club and the organizers within the new club is a must. This committee assists the District Governor in the extension of Rotary in the District, assists the District Governor in a survey of a proposed locality for a new club and renders assistance to the sponsoring club with emphasis on charter night.
