Public Relations Committee The new District Leadership Plan now utilizes six branches of operation in order to best match with the Rotary International recommended Club Leadership Plan model. The Public Relations Branch coincides with the Club Public Relations Committee. The Public Relations Committee consists of the Public Relations Committee only.
Rotary Public Relations is the effort to create favorable public opinion towards Rotary's programs and activities. Effective public relations raises a club's or district's profile among other Rotarians. Effective public relations raises Rotary's profile within the community and makes it easier for Rotarians to garner non-Rotarian support and raise support for Rotary projects. Effective public relations helps to dispel myths and misconceptions about Rotary and brings favorable attention to a project as well as a club or district. It attracts quality candidates to the club and becomes a way to reach many potential members who just don't know what Rotary does.

PROMOTING ROTARY Great News: Three panels with the Rotary message can now be seen in the skywalks of St. Paul. The images were chosen from Rotary Internationals promotional materials and made possible through a grant from Rotary International. These panels are visible to visitors at the Xcel Energy Center, Childrens museum and Ordway Theatre and other area attractions within the skyways. The location of the St. Paul Skyways was chosen because of the estimated 165,000 impressions per month, and the demographic groups represent 37% professionals and executives, 63% are between the ages of 35 and 64 years of age and 54% are women. The grant application was completed in September and the District was notified at the end of December of the $8000.00 award.
