My name is Molly Dancer and it is an absolute privilege to be considered a Global Grant Scholar  for Rotary.  I am originally from Colorado, but completed my education in Minnesota, and I am now relocating to London, England, to undertake a masters degree at the School of Oriental and African Studies - SOAS.

My interest in forced migrations and international humanitarianism began in part to my recreational travels and developed into full time involvement as I grew more in tune to cultural discrepancies and hardships.  A one year residency in Norway introduced me to the concept of African refugees and forced migrations while my visits to western Europe and North Africa introduced the mirage of western precedences.  These experiences inspired my undergraduate degree: Peace, Justice, and Social Governance in Africa.  I was fortunate to spend two months in Tanzania, collaborating with the Nyerere Center for Peace Research and the International Tribunal for Rwanda Genocide; as well as to reside in Nairobi, Kenya, advancing my practical knowledge of Kenyan development and its vital role in East Africa.

I am thrilled to continue my education in African migrations and diasporas in London, and to simultaneously represent Rotary, which I believe will be a lifetime endeavor.
