Preparation for the inbound Group Study Exchange teams is already underway and we would like to hear from you now. Areas 1-6 will be hosting the team from Brazil between April 9 and May 7 and Areas 7-14 will be hosting the team from Taiwan between April 2 and April 30. Unsure about your area? Hosting a GSE team is a very popular activity in our District and teams who have visited here have had incredible experiences due in part to the comprehensive planning in which we all engage. That time is upon us again and we would like to hear from you about your Rotary Club's interest in hosting the teams as well as sample itineraries.
We will again be having each team hosted by one club for overnight stays and ask neighboring clubs to take responsibility for the team members' daily activities and vocational days - this allows the team to stay in one place reducing the amount of packing and moving time.
To avoid duplication of activities, we will be looking over the sample itineraries submitted and will be working closely with each of you to develop a program that embraces all that our District has to offer. When submitting your ideas, be creative and try to include activities that are unique to your area.
During the next month please contact the Inbound Coordinator dealing with the team who will be coming to your area to indicate your interest in hosting the overnight stays, daily activities (with sample itineraries), vocational days or other GSE activities your Club would like to sponsor. Again, this is a very popular activity for our Rotary District, so contact your Inbound Coordinator early to reserve a spot on the calendar. If you do not act now, your club could miss out on this very rewarding opportunity
We will be meeting at the Mid-term Conference on January 15th in Stillwater to FINALIZE the itinerary and work out the final details so the time to plan and act is now.
