Pete Grayson

Pete Grayson was born and raised in St. Paul.  He is a graduate of Cretin High School and the University of Minnesota, where he obtained a B.A. in Political Science and History.  Pete was commissioned in the U.S. Army upon graduation and served on active duty in Texas, Germany, Virginia, and Kansas.  He left active duty to attend law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul and later joined his father in the firm, Sanborn & Grayson.

Pete continued his military career as an Army Reserve Judge Advocate and retired with 3 deployments over 28 years.  Deployments interrupted his law practice, so Pete joined the Department of the Army as a civilian attorney in the Washington, DC, area, practicing primarily in the areas of ethics, fiscal law, and administrative law.  He culminated his law career as an advertising and marketing lawyer for Wells Fargo Bank, a job that brought his family back to Minnesota.

Pete is a third-generation St. Paul Rotarian, following his grandfather, Ellison Capers Grayson, and his father, Richard Grayson, a past president.  Pete has been a Rotarian for over 30 years and has been president of the St. Paul, West Anne Arundel (Odenton, MD), and Glen Burnie, MD, Rotary Clubs. 

His District roles include serving four+ years as an Assistant Governor in Maryland (District 7620), District RYLA Chair, District Community Service Chair, Rotary Youth Exchange Officer and Mentor, and District “On to Winnipeg” Chair.  Pete and Amy have attended Rotary International Conferences in Osaka, Japan, Chicago, and New Orleans.  They are Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation.

Pete and Amy have two children, James and Kathryn, and five grandchildren, Austin, Avery, Annika, Archer, and Louisa.  He enjoys spending time with family and rescue dog, Luna, the current top dog.  Pete is passionate about personal and professional growth, especially leadership, mentoring, and organizational effectiveness. He is a Working Genius certified facilitator.  Pete is an avid reader, writer, and student of travel.
